Elephant Health Management Training

On September 1, 2024, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya organized the Elephant Health Management Training program at Huay To Elephant Camp, Krabi Elephant Love & Care, and Following Giants Elephant Camp in Krabi Province. The training was honored by Dr. Patarapol Maneon, Head of the Wildlife Health Management Division, Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation, who served as the guest speaker. The project was led by Dr. Methasu Chanrod, Associate Dean for Academic and Research Affairs, along with Dr. Wipawee Saengsoi, Associate Dean for Administration and Planning, and Dr. Mathuros Suwanrueangsri, Associate Dean for Student Development.

The program was attended by 31 sixth-year veterinary students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, along with 6 exchange students from Azabu University, Japan. The participants gained hands-on veterinary experience by conducting elephant health check-ups, collecting blood samples, administering deworming and nutritional supplements, and treating sick elephants during the program.
