On December 20, 2024, Assistant Professor Dr. Teerawit Chantip, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, presided over the opening ceremony of the Swiftlet Nest House Development for Standardization Project. The event was honored by a welcome speech from Mr. Khwanchai Rodmanee, Mayor of Pak Phanang Municipality. The project was organized by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV), with the aim of developing and enhancing the management standards of swiftlet nest houses.
The program included discussions on the current situation and the improvement of regulations related to the development of standard management for swiftlet nest houses, a lecture on the draft standards for managing swiftlet nest houses, a presentation on technologies for managing swiftlet nest houses, and a study tour of the management of locations and environmental management of swiftlet nest houses at Pak Phanang Municipality Hall in Pak Phanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and at a model swiftlet nest house in the area.
Key speakers included Mr. Kamonsak Lertpaiboon, President of the Swiftlet Business Operators Association and Member of the Special Commission on Revising Laws and Regulations for Swiftlet Nest Activities; Dr. Prasert Nontakarn, Lecturer from the Faculty of Science and Technology; and Assistant Professor Dr. Sirisak Cheechang, Lecturer from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, RMUTSV. The project was attended by 35 participants.
