RMUTSV Responds Urgently to Restore the Health of ‘Thale Noi Buffaloes’ Following Major Flooding Under the 2025 Youth Volunteer Project

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV), organized the 2025 Youth Volunteer Project under the initiative “Establishing a Sustainable Standardized Health Service System for Water Buffaloes to Support Conservation-Based Tourism.” The project aims to provide urgent assistance and rehabilitate the health of the ‘Thale Noi buffaloes’ affected by the recent severe flooding.

On 29–30 November 2025, the Faculty carried out activities under the initiative, integrating academic services with teaching and learning in the areas of health management and reproductive system management of Thale Noi water buffaloes. The operations included health check-ups, disease diagnosis, and the administration of nutritional supplements. Additionally, medical supplies were provided to local buffalo farmers. The mission was led by Dr. Adisorn Srijaras, along with four fifth-year veterinary students.

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, RMUTSV, promptly mobilized to restore and safeguard the health of the Thale Noi water buffaloes—an iconic symbol of conservation-based tourism—which were severely affected by the major flooding in southern Thailand.
