Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, RMUTSV hosts the “Chumphon Model” seminar to strategize the development of an integrated beef cattle industry toward processing and export.

On 14 November 2025, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV) organized a seminar on Integrated Beef Cattle Production Development for Processing and Export in Chumphon Province (2026–2030). The event was held at Nana Buri Hotel, Mueang Chumphon District, and at the Research Station for Economic Livestock Production under Climate Change in Upper Southern Thailand, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, RMUTSV, Tha Sae District, Chumphon Province.

The objective of the seminar was to establish a collaborative framework among government agencies, educational institutions, private-sector operators, and beef cattle farmers in Chumphon Province to sustainably enhance beef cattle production and the beef industry across the entire value chain—upstream, midstream, and downstream. The seminar also emphasized value-added processing for distribution in modern trade markets and for export.
Chumphon Province holds a strategic advantage, having an existing beef slaughtering and processing facility with a capacity of 200 head per day, established through collaboration with D&Z Consultants Co., Ltd. and the Chumphon Provincial Livestock Office.
This integrated effort was collectively identified as the “Chumphon Model.”

  • Mr. Somsak Nuansom, Head of Livestock Promotion and Development Group
    as speakers for the seminar.

Private sector representatives included Dr. Adul Kailaitong and executives from D&Z Consultants Co., Ltd., serving as speakers.
Agricultural sector representatives included Mr. Samphao Meechan, President of the Don Yang Cattle Farming Community Enterprise, also contributing as a speaker.

In the afternoon, participants visited the beef slaughterhouse of D&Z Consultants Co., Ltd. and the Research Station for Economic Livestock Production under Climate Change in Upper Southern Thailand (Chumphon).

The integrated recommendations and collaborative framework developed among government agencies, private-sector operators, and farmers will be further proposed as policy guidelines for provincial authorities and relevant national agencies, including the Department of Livestock Development and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
