Pet population control project in Koh Samui
Between 13th and 16th of August, 2020, a 4 day sterilization program was organized by Rob’s Dogs Foundation in collaboration with the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Me-O and Smart Heart with the aim of supporting control of over population of unwanted street animals.
The event was held at the Pariah Dog Clinic and was supported by various donors – Faculty of Veterinary Science, RUTS, Me-O, Smart Heart, Sawan Maa – Happy Horse Sanctuary and Pariah Dog Koh Samui, among others. Veterinary doctors, professors and the final year veterinary students from the Faculty of Veterinary Science, RUTS supported the event and carried out sterilization in different animals. Sterilization was performed on 51 animals, primarily cats and dogs belonging to low-income owners and those that are free roaming in the streets in Koh Samui.
